Cyanomitra verticalis
Green-headed Sunbird
Sunbirds (Nectariniidae)Least Concern
A medium-sized sunbird with an iridescent green head, throat and upper breast and dark underparts, with pale yellow shoulder tufts usually hidden at rest. In The Gambia it occurs in lush woodland, gardens, and forest edge, often in pairs or mixed-species flocks, feeding on nectar and insects.

Identification
Told from other West African Cyanomitra/Cinnyris sunbirds by the extensive green covering the head and breast (not just a throat patch); females show a duller green helmet.
